Nuns Having Fun

Everyone bikes in Holland

Everyone bikes in Holland

Not everyone wears spandex when biking……

I met these ladies last  year on my                           “Sailing Home Sojourn”  in Holland.

At least some are cycling now!

Some members of the Cyclopath Cycling Club  are in sunny Florida!  Here they are cycling the Pinellas Trail near the gulf coast. The rest of us will just have to wait until the snow is gone here in Ontario…….and just think, tonight we are suppose to get another dumping!  Good grief….enough already!

Iles de la Madeleine

I love Iles de la Madeleine…..this tiny archipelago in the Gulf of the St Lawrence is such a special Canadian place.  Brightly painted houses, Acadians with a true “joie de vivre,   superb seafood, amazing sandy beaches and the ever present sea….

My By Land and Sea 2014 Great Escape this summer is sold out…..watch for another in 2015!

Cycling Season is Almost Here??

Our 2014 cycling season is almost here…..but you would never know it ……check out the snow at Presqu’ille Park near Brighton. Hard to imagine the gang biking through the park in April!  Keep your fingers crossed that spring comes soon……For more information about the              Cyclopath Cycling Club, click on the “Cycling” tab at the top !

Where Are We?

We took off early this morning to scout out routes for my August cycling tour in the Niagara Region. Somehow we ended up on the shores of Lake Erie near Port Colborne…..today was windy and cool but this summer the weather will be perfect.  We found lots of scenic roads, great places to eat, fantastic wineries and lovely vistas. Can’t wait to return later this summer with good friends for my “Vistas, Vineyards and Vino” Cycling Tour 2013.

Most of the time I organize and lead my own tours but this week I accompanied some of the international students from Loyalist College (where I teach) for a tour of Ottawa. First stop was a visit to the Parliament Buildings followed by a visit to the Byward Market. On our way back to Belleville we stopped at a sugar bush and sampled maple syrup on snow!  What a great way to experience a bit of Canada!

The BIG Bright Light Show in Napanee

imageIMG_2471

The tiny town of Napanee lit up the night sky during the holiday season of 2012 with thousands of lights. What a winter wonderland!  This was the town’s first annual “Big Bright Light Show”.  Lyndsay Tee, Core Area Advisory Committee Coordinator, says next year will be even bigger and brighter.
